HEAD OF TRAIN DEVICE (HOTD)

The EMS Industries, Head Of Train Device (HOTD) is located in the locomotive cabin and is the wireless remote interface between the End Of Train Device and the driver. This is done via the graphical display on the HOTD. This system allows the driver to make a better informed decision as to the status and integrity of the train.

  • RS232 port and Ethernet to communicate to ancillary Systems

END OF TRAIN DEVICE (EOTD)

END OF TRAIN DEVICE (EOTD)

The EMS Industries, End Of Train Device (EOTD) is a portable device which is connected to the buffer of the last wagon of the train. It is connected directly to the train’s brake pipe. The EOTD monitors the pressure/vacuum and periodically reports the status as well as its current GPS location to the Head of Train Device (HOTD).

The EMS Industries, Charger is an accessory for the End Of Train Device. Since End Of Train Devices are portable devices and powered by a battery, periodic charging is required.

  • Programmable digital charger
  • Recharges drained batteries in 5 hours or less
  • 3 LEDs to indicate Power, Charging, Charged and disconnected
  • Serial port interface
